Red Tape Reduction for low risk venues

Are you a LOW RISK venue?

You can answer ‘yes’ to this if you DON’T OPEN AFTER MIDNIGHT and are one of the following:

  • A licensed café
  • A licensed restaurant
  • A community club with fewer than 2,000 members
  • A  small licensed vessel or water craft

If so, you are no longer required to have an Approved Manager on the premises at any time.  In fact, you no longer have to have anyone trained in RMLV on the premises – RSA training is considered enough.

But wait – whoa!

THE PROVISIONS OF THE LIQUOR ACT STILL APPLY TO THE VENUE

So if there is no one trained in RMLV, how do the staff know what is required of the venue under the Act?

As an OWNER – would you trust your staff (who have perhaps just completed their RSA online) to keep your venue compliant under the Act?  Fines for Licensees who breach the regulations increase year by year.
