Ongoing RSA Training

The Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation (OLGR) launched an investigation after the Queensland Police Service (QPS) were called to the premises on 12 January 2015, following a complaint that people were heavily intoxicated outside the venue. The subsequent investigation found the bartender had continued to serve  2 patrons while they showed signs of being unduly intoxicated.

The staff had previously completed RSA courses and both owners of the venue held current RSA and responsible management of licensed venue (RMLV) certificates, but the licensee had no ongoing RSA training or procedures in place.

You can stop the same thing happening at your venue, by ensuring that all staff (especially new staff) have the opportunity to refresh their RSA knowledge, by accessing the RSA QUIZ on the AIBI website.

Just go to http://www.aibi.qld.edu.au and click on the large red RSA button on the right hand side of the page.  Scroll down to the end of the page and you will find the up-to-date interactive quiz.

Anything less than 80% correct should be considered a FAIL – contact Anne for a face-to-face refresher course delivered to staff at your venue!
